Materials

Exterior Materials:
Materials were chosen for durability, embodied energy, performance and aesthetics. Brick was selected for its prevalence in New York City and for its durability, it is used with a back up of aerated autoclaved concrete block-chosen for its R value and light weight. The structure of the building will be steel with high recycled content. Within the building structure, where possible, the finish-floors are polished concrete structural slabs and spaces are open to the acoustic slabs above. Low emitting paints, adhesives, and finishes will be used.
